Poker Tip #4 REBUY STRATEGY
There are several strategies to playing in the rebuy period but none are as good as THIS ONE. During the rebuy period (usually the first hour) it is your aim to at least triple your starting stack. Rule 1 BANKROLL. A good bankroll for a rebuy is 100x the buyin or more. You can't afford to be playing scared money in the rebuy period. Rule 2 ALWAYS double rebuy at the start of the tournament. This is to maximise any double up. And if you have the right bank roll for the rebuy then it is definately necessary. Rule 3 SHOVE or FOLD. Don't start making small raises to get value, as long as the rebuy is no more than $20 then shove folding preflop is the standard play. Hand range is massive here, shove 89s through to AA if you like, whatever you can do to get your stack up - because if you do lose the hand, you just rebuy to where you were. If you do shove with trash, be sure to show your hand in order to lose respect from your players so that when you pick up a monster i.e AA/KK then you'll get paid. Rule 4 ALWAYS addon at the break, even if you've made 10x your starting stack it is always +EV (expected value) to addon. Usually an addon will be over 10 bbs which is necessary for any stack. Rule 5 Do set a BUDGET for the rebuy. Although you will be shoving or folding and there is every chance you will get unlucky and not win a single hand - don't keep rebuying. You'll get to a point where you need to get to the final table if you want to make any sort of profit!!! Thanks for reading,
