The Urge to Gamble
Does everyone feel the need to gamble? For some of us it's a daily part of our lives and for some it's an anti-social and disgusting habit. Gambling has always been a part of my life in the sense that I have been playing poker at a semi-professional level for the last few years. But, ocasionally, I look at myself and wonder if there is a certain amount of addiction to the game... what would i do without poker in my life? I do not have an addictive personality, but recently I have started to wonder how much I need poker. I've gone to casinos a lot lately and some of the old fellas you come across stinking of alcohol, dribbling from the mouth and giving blunt and embarassing comments to the female dealers are starting to make me wonder if I'm heading in that direction. I can certainly say last time I gambled I was stinking of alcohol and possibly dribbling from the mouth but hey, I'm a student, that's 5 nights a week. The last few days I've spent more on poker than I have in a while without making any big wins and so I think it's time to take a break. One thing I'm glad for is the help I've been getting at www.pokerisrigged.com without some of the tips I've seen there, I definately wouldn't be playing at a semi-professional level. |
